THE FRASER TO GRANBY TRAIL (FTG Trail)

The Fraser to Granby Trail

This is a multi use, non-motorized trail open to the public.  The reason it is for non-motorized use only is that most of it lies within private property and the easements state: ”NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES.”

The trail starts off of CR 5 at the Fraser Sports Complex.  Turn right down CR 514 and at the end of CR 514 you will go through a maze structure where you must dismount from your bike.  No horses are allowed on this section of the trail.  You are now on Denver Water Board property and the lessees of the Water Board.  In the summer, there are cattle on the property.

Box CulvertYou come out on CR 526 (Tabernash Fire Station Rd).  Stay on the SOUTH side of Hwy 40 (DO NOT CROSS HWY). Go down, about 3 streets, to 5th Street and turn left.  Then turn right on CR 522E which will curve into CR 5221 (you are going through the Coyote Creek Neighborhood).  Horses are allowed from CR 5221 to the YMCA.  You then are back on the natural surfaced trail that is along side of Hwy 40 and which ends at the box culvert and the YMCA CR 53.  After the box culvert, the trail becomes single track.  The single track is intermediate to advanced and is not marked.

This summer, HTA has hired a trail contractor to come cut 3.5 new miles of trail on Granby Ranch property.  It is parallel to Village Road.  Starting from the Saddle on Village Rd. (Gazebo), the trail will go down to Ten Mile Drive and the pond at the Inn at Silver Creek.  We then hope to go behind the Inn at Silver Creek’s parking lot and come out where the new stoplight will be to enter City Market.  Grand Elk has already put in a trail that is made of recycled asphalt.  Then the trail will go through the back of the Granby Fire Department parking lot and over the bridge to Kebab Park.
